Gairm Scoil Chu Uladh, Bellanamore Secondary School

The school was founded in 1982. It began with only 23 pupils and 2 teachers but this number has now grown to approximately 150 pupils at present. The Headmistress of the school is Fionnuala Ui Channai. The teachers taking part in SchoolSat are Aoife Nash and Mairead Harkin.

The school was founded as an all Irish school, as a result of this the main aim of the school is that each pupil will be able to converse and communicate through the Irish language on the completion of their education. A new building programme sanctioned by the Department of Education will provide additional facilities and rooms to the school. Extra curricular activities in the school include sports, music, debating etc.
