NCTE is
the government agency set up by the Irish Department of
Education to implement the Schools IT 2000 programme. NCTE
is responsible for advising schools about the integration
of IT in the curriculum, the management of the Scoilnet
educational portal for Irish schools and for teacher training.
NCTE is also the agency with primary responsibility for
advising schools and others in all matters to do with hardware,
software and network integration.
Donegal
Education Centre (DEC) in Ireland supports the in-service
needs of teachers in Donegal schools and hosts the services
of the Donegal IT advisor. DEC is co-ordinating the activities
of the Donegal schools taking part in the project as end-users
and is playing an active role in the evaluation of SchoolSat.
ATiT,
based in Belgium, integrates technology and services with
the specific needs and requirements of the different user
groups within the SchoolSat project.
Web-Sat
which is based in Dublin, is responsible for technology
and service supply.
